This trail is a perfect day hike, 9 miles round trip and the first and last 1.5 miles is totally flat. The falls are beautiful, lots of access points to a really clear creek

Really easy access to the cliffs from town, and the trail meanders with great views of the pacific, the river, and Mendocino. Also great spot to take happy hour or a picnic, there are a few benches to eat at.

Really beautiful 1 mile drive from the 101 and there were quite a few people in the pull off, seated and just watching the waves. Great detour!

I used this approach to Chicago Basin while the train was out of service this summer due to Covid-19. Camped the first night right at the junction of New York Creek

Rode up this on the last day of a white rim trip. It was super challenging, especially in the few few miles of ascent, but the incline tapered in the last few switchbacks

Just finished this trip, we rode in reverse starting at Mineral Bottom and finishing at Shafers. Each day had ascents and descents and was super fun and accessible for bikers without tons of technical skill, despite being tough long days of riding

The hike is rather easy and the water is gleaming here, I also love Alberta Falls

Go for sunrise!

I accessed that trailhead with RWD on a fairly clear day

The XC tracks were pretty stable, and the ranch is beautiful!

Running the spur is so invigorating, I love this but beware of lightning storms!

Stays cool in this canyon late into the morning and early in the afternoon - great for runs

Great lake to relax in, with very little crowds!

This is a scramble and a challenge but so worth it, i especially love this ascent at sunrise!

Just want to echo, I've heard of friends who experienced slides here despite snow assessments, so be extra diligent

LOVE this spot, tucked away in the Never Summers. It's cozy and offbeat and has great skiing all around.

Iconic views indeed, but the squirrels have been fed so often that they come after your sandwich! Beware

That finch to pear connection is really easy to make, and double the lakes is always better!

I saw those very spiderwebs! So picturesque

East Inlet has the best access! Verna is very long and offers plenty of space for a lakeside lunch

This is SO true, and a great capture of the funky animals that moose are. I used to watch people try to photograph the moose near to Buckaroo Barn on the west side and they SO frequently would end up agitating the moose and sometimes getting little charges out of them. Not worth the photo. Be conscious of the habitat they're in, whether there are babies nearby, etc

Spent so much of my time in Big Meadows in the 2015 season, post burn. Love the quiet, love the campsites right before Granite Falls

Love this drive for the late summer snow patches, the big horned sheep, and the views coming down into the west side of the park! Alpine tundra out there at the top!

Feels like walking in a line to the falls, so despite the beauty of the hike, it's not my favorite
