I love this park, and Double Arch was one of the many arches I checked out as well. I definitely got off the trail several times throughout the park so be careful if you're not used to hiking in the desert, but the scenery is beautiful. Definitely recommend going in the early morning before the crowds and heat.

Taken my bike out here for a few rides and never seems to disappoint, love the scenery.

From the East Coast, visiting Badlands wasn't at the top of out cross-country list, so the 35-mile drive was enough for us to see. However the wildlife and terrain was very unique and made the trip that much more enjoyable. Also is wasn't very busy so we roamed freely and were't hung up driving through and making scenic overlook stops.

I first stopped by Seppmann's Mill which I wasn't too impressed with but made for some unique pictures and interesting history, reading up on it on site. The waterfalls were also nice. I visited in late summer and pretty much had the park to myself, very well kept, and worth the visit if you're trying to escape.

Although this photogenic bridge is beautiful in person, a great picture is definitely about the timing of day/lighting. We drove the whole route early in the morning leaving me with a very foggy picture which made it unique, but something to think about!

My family and I have stopped here every time we drive to Chicago. Check out some of the other dune trails this park has to offer then hit the lake to cool off!

This is a must for sunsets, awesome ending to the day with a headlamp hike back to the parking lot. Beginner's must.

All around great beginner dayhike. If you're just getting into hiking, the Fire Road alternative to the AT is a great way to the top. A lot less strenuous and more direct. same starting point and easily seen when the hike begins. The views are just picture perfect. Also If you can manage to head there on a week day that'd be best, for it can get quite busy.

Visited here like Tye during the winter and it was beautiful! Get yourself a pair of crampons and you'll have a blast with everything covered in ice! Can't wait to check it out again in the summer.

Had this on the map on my trip to New England this past winter and it was everything I expected. Never really been to a lighthouse of this caliber. Many lighthouses are on Maine's rocky coast, and I hit 3 just within Portland's outskirts. You can't take a bad picture here. Also be sure to stop by when operators are working in the peak summer months for a peak inside!

As the local's say "Ithaca is Gorges" Done this hike half a dozen times or so and never ceases to amazes me, don't forget to check it out in winter! Fun fact: This is the tallest single drop waterfall East of the Rockies!

Did a partial to the full 4 day trip explained above and did an out and back day hike on the South Rim because of the time we had between stops. Love the terrain out there, and would love to go back to try a longer backpacking trip to see the stars and sunsets/sunrises!

Stopped here unplanned for a break traveling to Salt Lake, but was very pleasantly surprised and spent more time than expected climbing on the rock features and walking around the Garden

Saw tons of mountain goats up top chillin and two moose near the valley. A great day hike! If you're from the East like me make sure you're ready for the elevation change, the thin air surprised me more than I thought it would.

If you're visiting SoCal, just skip LA and come here. You pull up to the island feeling like you're visiting Jurassic Park.. Absolutely amazing. At any given point the island has no more than 150 people or so, which isn't much looking at the massive size. Top 5 favorite parks in the US

My favorite part of this hike was the rocky path to the top. Going off the trail during anytime of the ascent, gives some fun scrambling spots!

If you come here for the views, don't get me wrong they're great but the Ice caves are absolutely amazing! Please don't leave without checking them out. If you're brave enough to follow the caves past the trail, you find some safe, and easily navigated cavern-like places deeper into the cave system. Not many people go back that far, but with some headlamps it makes an awesome adventure!

This state forest has awesome mountain biking trails! Should be listed for it's one of the main reasons I head there in the summer. Sweet man-made ramps, jumps, and bridges around every corner.

Awesome place to go cliff jumping although be careful as the local authorities aren't too fond of this!

This is an awesome little preserve to check out if you haven't been. Sometimes the big parks can get busy in the summer months in Ithaca, but during my last visit in late summer, we had the whole place to ourselves. Lots to still see, great falls and views of surrounding forests.

Minimal walking to get to the falls, definitely worth to check out if you haven't visited. The caves Elyse talks about are pretty sweet to explore and crawl around in too! Will definitely be back to see some wild flowers in the coming months.

Although the snow can make for an interesting drive in the White's, a four wheel drive vehicle on a day following a recent snowfall or during mid-winter, can give absolutely stunning views every turn you take. You'll be arguing who has to drive on this adventure because sitting shotgun with the camera is the way to go!

Recently did this hike in early March. Although Upstate New York isn't the ideal destination during this time of year between snow melting and a mix between warm and cold weather, I did this hike on a Tuesday with some friends, and had the whole trail to ourselves. Really beautiful up top with the peak covered evergreens and several peaks seen especially to the South! Beware that the top inclosed lookout is locked unless a ranger is there working to operate (usually on weekends or peak season), but you can still climb the tower up to that point.

The Gorge Trail is an adventure in itself, but, but all of Letchworth State Park is a great day trip destination! Every corner you turn here is picture-worthy, highly recommend.
