Cedar Cliff Trail is a 2.1 mile near Mount Vernon. This is a very moderately trafficked hike.

Cedar Cliff Trail is a 2.1 mile out and back hike that takes you by Cedar river located near Mount Vernon, Iowa. This hike goes right along Cedar River offering breathtaking views. Something special about this hike is, this is not a normal walking hike along a path; at the top of the hike you get to climb rocks which makes it that much more exciting! 

There are parts of the hike where tree roots are exposed and elevation along the trail. This hike defiantly is not a walk in the park but it is not crazy difficult. Cedar Cliff is located in Palisades-Kepler State Park, full of rolling forests and beautiful ponds. Dogs are allowed on the Cedar Cliff trail but must be on a leash at all times.

Was here during the fall and all the trees were beautiful. Situated along the river, it’s extremely peaceful and right outside Cedar Rapids.
