Enjoy a scenic 2.5 mile hike down the River Trail to the main lodge and explore 17 canyons that string along the Illinois River.

Drive into Starved Rock State Park and continue up the road until you see the parking lot named "Parkman's Plain." Several wooden staircases will take you down to the bottom of the canyon onto the River Trail. As you hike the River Trail to the lodge, you will pass by many canyons that you can explore in and photograph. The trail will eventually go back up and lead directly into the lodge entrance.

Starved Rock State Park is just outside of Oglesby, Illinois. The park features sandstone bluffs and the Illinois River runs through the park. Dogs are allowed on trail if kept on leash.
