Description

Known as the "Niagara of the West," Shoshone Falls' double tiered waterfall is 45 feet taller than it's eastern counterpart.

From Highway 93 in Twin Falls turn east onto Falls Avenue. After two miles turn left onto Champlin Road and continue to the entrance of Shoshone Falls Park.

Enjoy a view of the waterfalls from one of the many lookout decks. For a longer adventure, hop on the paved Centennial Trail and walk, run, or bike 1.4 miles to the site of Evel Knievel's unsuccessful 1974 jump across the canyon on a rocket powered motorcycle.

Shoshone Falls is dam controlled and runs highest during spring. Current water flow can be seen via a live webcam provided by the City of Twin Falls.

After your waterfall adventure head to Elevation 486 for the best happy hour menu in town and outdoor tables along the canyon rim.

Shoshone Falls Reviews

I rerouted my road trip randomly through Twin Falls and decided I needed to see why the town was named as such. I didn't realize that the famous Shoshone Falls were here! Maybe it was the surprise and spontaneity of it but these falls are spectacular! All the walkways are paved and family friendly for the most part - though if you wander around a bit you can find a few gem spots away from people. 😉

I love waterfalls and this one is beautiful. Stop here, and watch beautiful rainbows. There's not a whole lot to explore, they won't let you go out of the parking lot. Fee was 3$. Went there in May and it was not crowded.

Visit during the shoulder season for no fee. This is a great stop for anyone travelling along I-84. A wide angle lens helps to get the full shot.
