Jump Creek Falls is an easy-to-access waterfall situated south of Marsing, Idaho. When you arrive to the parking lot right near the trailhead, you'll be starting at around 2600' elevation. Don't expect much change from 2600', unless you are to go exploring the canyon further. From the trailhead, it's only about 1/3 of a mile into the canyon on a well marked and paved path. You'll have to cross one stream, but it is possible to cross completely dry with some good balance. Be forewarned that rattlesnakes and poison ivy are both very real threats in this part of Idaho.
The falls is located in the Jump Creek Canyon, which after your arrival to the falls provides endless amount of exploration opportunities - albeit, with some questionable trails. You can ascend to the top of the falls on a very steep trail, passing a man-made "cave" on the way.
If you go in the summer, be prepared for the heat and hot sand. If you go during a weekend in late summer, there will be plenty of people.

Jump Creek was everything I hoped! The only bad thing was the amount of people, perhaps a weekday would have been better. With that said we went to the top of the falls and it was as if we were the only ones there! Jump Creek offers either an easy hike or a bit more challenging with breathtaking views that will transport you back in time. Please remember "Leave No Trace!"

If you can I'd suggest the best time to go is April/May/September on a weekday while school is still in session. It can get a bit busier on weekends. These months depending on the weather are still nice and you can go in the water around the falls. The hike to the bottom of the falls is very easy - about .6 miles. The hike to the top starts a little bit before the hike into the falls but it overlooks Idaho and is gorgeous. There are a lot of rock formations that once you're up there it is almost like you're in a different place entirely. Great location for a half day hike bring a lunch and you're good to go!

Fun place. Enjoyed the chimney climb to the right of the falls, although it was a bit too tricky for the younger kids. I would have liked to hike further up the canyon past the falls, but wasn't sure it was possible.
