Going to the first lake is a well marked easy to follow trail. It’s something like 3 miles on my gps. This will slightly depend on where you go once you get to the first lakes. The trail gets steeper toward the first two lakes. You will pass the first one on your left as you go up and will be able to see it through the trees. If you keep going, you’ll hit the second lake. There are plenty of places to chill here, eat, fish, or even swim. If you want to go to the top lake you will pass between the first two to a much less taken care of trail. The trail will split right and left. The left trail goes almost straight up the mountain and requires bolder scrambling. The path to the right takes a longer rout but isn’t quite as hard. I definitely recommend this further lake. It is by far the best lake out of them all. Overall great hike. You can stop at the first or go on to the final lake. The final like is about a mile up, but is a bit shorter if you take the left path.

We did this in the middle of the week in July and it was still busy. $5 parking and some dirty bathrooms at the lot. No trail head sign, just a bunch of rocks headed up the mountain. Looks like an avalanche or rock slide trail at first. However the top is worth it. Great views of the mountain lake. My GPS clocked from the trail head to the lake about .5 miles. Then depending on how far you go up to the glacier it’ll be another .5 to .75 miles. If you go parking lot to bottom of glacier you are look at about a 2 mile round trip. Maybe less. Don’t bring strollers or anything like that. It is an easy and short hike, but rocky. The path needs some love.

The hike is 0.4 miles to a beautiful water hole that you can swim in. We traveled in early may and therefore did not swim. We also didn’t have to pay the fee and it was not crowded. We took our 2year old and 8month old. You cannot do a stroller or anything like that but it’s a short little hike.

I tend to like campgrounds that are less popular, but we camped here the first week in October, and it was the only campground open. We camped in the snow so it was cold but it was fun. There is a lot of hiking near here and the elk are fantastic. I will say it cost $30 for entry into the RMNP and then $26 to camp, so be aware of this before you come! I would definitely recommend camping here in the winter or when it is snowing.

This is a great hike. When we went we decided to summit 3 -14ers. Mt. Democrat, Mt. Lincoln, and Mt. Bross. Lincoln ended up being closed, but we got close enough to spit on it. The trail at the top is marked fairly well so that you can see where to go if you want to summit all three

This is the best day hike I have done to this day. The views are incredible. The lake is beautiful. There are animal, and, well I guess i'm just at a loss for words.

Its a short hike to the top and well worth it. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the traffic. It is heavily populated and sometimes it's hard to park. The view is worth it though.

Great hike. It is long, but not too long to complete in one day. My group only made it to the key hole 13,100 ft, but my plan is to go back and do the entire thing again, as long as the weather is good. I would strongly suggest this hike to anyone who is looking for a challenging hike. That being said, it is a very doable hike.

This is indeed a great hike. Its easy and some real beautiful rock faces. The caves are great. When we went we took some young kids and they did just fine. Great experience.
