3 Incredible Places to Catch the NYC Skyline at Golden Hour

Step away from your busy day in the city and sink into a sunset.

After a long day in the city, sometimes you just need to wind down outside. It can be tough to find the time to get out of town and into the wild, especially in the middle of the week, but if you can spare an hour to get outside and take in the sunset, you may be surprised at how revitalizing it can be. Whether it’s in a park down the street, up on a rooftop, or next to the river, New York City has some beautiful locations to enjoy golden hour. Check out some of our favorites!

1. Brooklyn Bridge Park

Stroll the walkway, work on your photography, or even bring your climbing shoes and get in some boulder before the sun goes down. Brooklyn Bridge Park is just a quick train ride from Manhattan, but feels like a great escape.

2. JFK Boulevard East

JFK Boulevard East has multiple parks that are perfect for a sunset picnic, shooting the city skyline, or just sitting back and taking it all in. If you’re more of a morning person than a night owl, get up early and head here for a breakfast picnic and watch the sunrise (seen above).

3. Top of the Rock

Since there aren’t any mountains to climb in the Big Apple, this is the next best thing. It’s a more expensive option as fee to go up to the top is $29, but the views are unbelievable.
