Escape the crowds of Waikiki. Calm water during the summer months and a beautiful beach. Cliff jumping.

If you're looking to get away from the summer crowds of Waikiki, you should consider heading to the North Shore, especially in the summer. Although this season is considered the off-season on this side of the island, it simply means the North Shore transforms into a gentle, family-friendly 7-mile stretch of pristine beach. There is no better place to head than Waimea Bay. It's centrally located, close to Foodland, and easy to access. Once on the beach, you'll be able to enjoy some fun lounging in the ocean, snorkeling, the occasional body surf, and cliff jumping. If you spend enough time underwater, you'll likely hear the sounds of migrating humpback whales - always a cool experience.

If you go to the Bay you must cliff dive! It is a right of passage on the island. Such a fun place to be. Parking can be hard, but just be patient/go on a weekday

Parking can be a little tricky if there's a lot of people. The sand is nice, cliff is a good height with deep water and waves are good size to body surf if you don't mind getting pounded into the sand. Definitely a must-do on the north shore.

Beautiful beach and right across the street from Waimea Valley Falls.
