Description

Added by Whitney Conley

Gorgeous stroll among driftwood full of life to one side and a beautiful ocean view to your  other side.

Driving on to Jekyll Island there is a $6 fee per car but it is well worth it. You will drive a good ways across the island until you are in the middle of no where and there are a few spots on the side of the road where you can park, I recommend parking next to the bridge.

You will take a path past a swamp area where you can see hermit crabs. At the end of the path you will emerge on to the beach and be surrounded by driftwood.

It's an easy walk along the beach as long as it's not high tide, at high tide there is no where safe to walk. In the driftwood you can find all sorts of creatures including crabs and different types of bugs. You can also look across the water and see the St. Simons Lighthouse.
