Explore the park's extensive boardwalks throughout the sand bluffs, while enjoying views of the Escambia Bay.

Across from Bay View Cemetery on route 90, there is a parking area for Bay Bluffs Park. You will see the boardwalk immediately begins at the front of the lot. Follow the boardwalk into the woods. These woods are home to a variety of plant species, including live oaks, magnolia trees, pines, ferns, and palm trees. At the bottom of the slope you will bear left to continue on the boardwalk. From here there are views of the Escambia bay. As you continue on the boardwalk, you will discover a tree house about a half mile in on your left. Exit the boardwalk and climb to the top of this for a nice view. There is a large amount of graffiti on the treehouse, some charming and some disturbing. From the tree house, bear right down a blue blazed hiking trail. Most of the trail is sand, so be prepared for your shoes to get filled with it. This path first starts very steep down, but will level off immediately. Follow this trail for about a quarter mile. You will come across several red colored sand bluffs on your left. These are protected areas, do not climb on them. The red color comes from clay that was once used to make bricks.Following the blue blazed path, you will reach a fitness area with pull up bars that meets up with the boardwalk. Jump back on the boardwalk using the stairs and hang a right. There will be another set of stairs that leads down to a trail heading towards the bay. Take this trail, and you will exit the woods onto the railroad. This is an extremely active train track, so cross with caution. You will reach the beach, which has a picnic table and interesting marble rocks. Spend some time in the sun enjoying the bay, or search for seashells. Walking along the beach to the right, there are some small tide pools that form, leaving a variety of fish, crabs, and other ocean creatures caught in them. After you have explored the beach, cross the tracks again. You can either hang a right to follow the boardwalk further throughout the bluffs, or blaze some of the unmarked trails further. To the right hand side of the boardwalk in the woods, there is a pet grave/memorial. There are also some interesting red sand bluff formations further up the boardwalk. If you've had enough, head back the way you came along the boardwalk and to the parking lot once again. The Pensacola Scenic Bluffs are the highest point along the Florida coastline, so respect and enjoy them.
