This is one of the best beaches in the Bay Area for relaxing, walking, and, especially, nature. There are a myriad of hiking trails in the vicinity, but walking the massive beach is an epic hike in itself. The water and the wind is calm because it’s in Drake’s Bay, blocked from the mighty Pacific climate.

Go at super low tide and find: sea stars, abalone, chitons, hermit crabs, maybe an octopus. The beach is also a protected area for harbor seals.
