Travel. Outdoors. Lifestyle. I completed a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2014. I loved the lifestyle it afforded. Now I live in a van with my dog Bobby traveling across the country. Life's a journey, so let's participate.

When I'm in NC in November it's a must! The green race is epic and there is so much stoke there. Be aware the hike in is really steep! If you like big waterfalls and sweet lines you've gotta go!

Hiked the trail both directions and would definitely recommend South to North. As previously said carry plenty of water, it's rather sparse and you will need it. The trail is very difficult but absolutely worth the effort. Once you reach the shinning rock wilderness it's really easy to loose the trail. That was the most frustrating part for me. There are so many spur trails and taking the wrong one will take you along way from where you wanna go. Make sure you take a map!

A great spot to relax after you hike Sacajawea Peak...I highly recommend that too! The whole area is just beautiful!

It feels a lot like hiking in the redwoods. Lots of evergreens and moss. It's really beautiful and the Winner Creek Gorge is a great place for photos. The hand trolley was closed when got there in late March but should be open during the summer. You can take the bridge if needed.

The trail itself isn't particularly difficult, but it gives you a great taste of what it's like to hike at higher elevations. It was my first 14er and I had a blast. I started feeling the elevation in the last 1,000 feet and my pace slowed considerably. Definitely keep an eye on the weather!

The views are without a doubt spectacular! The hike is short and there's a good chance you will see some mountain goats. One of my favorite hikes near Bozeman.

If there was only one section on the southern half of the Appalachian Trail I could hike it would be McAfee Knob! This place is incredible!

Matanuska Glacier is a great way to experience a glacier for the first time. It was the first time I had ever walked on one and I didn't want to leave. It feels other worldly and I would highly recommend it!

There is a lot of potential for exploring Byron Glacier. We explored several different caves in only a few hours. Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend a visit.

I just recently stayed in Crow Pass Cabin and absolutely loved it. The mountains were surrounded by snow and it was a fantastic place to just warm up after hiking the Crow Pass Trail from Eagle River Nature Center.
