Description

Added by Brad Duncan

The Rock Creek Park Nature center is a super easy and quick way to get a hike in without having to venture far away from the city.

The Rock Creek Park Nature Center located at 5200 Glover Road and serves as a trail head for a number of short and moderate hikes in the middle of the city. This is the perfect way to get in your nature fix without having to make an all day trip from the city. The trail starts by walking by the horse corral then sloping gently downhill for about a half mile before meeting up with the creek. There are a number of spots to sit and relax along the creek as well as snap a few pictures. After about a half mile you will come upon a bridge with views both up and downstream for a view of the rapids that you only get in this part of the park. Continue past the bridge and you will find an unmarked path to the right that will take you back to the visitor center. Be sure to keep an eye out for joggers, dogs, and horseback riders. Bikes are not allowed on this trail.
