This trail is a beautiful oasis in an area that appears flat, dry Jack Pine land. Parking is limited and there are steep inclines where the trail is nothing more than naturally compacted. The ranger station and picnic tables are located after the initial incline and lead to a beautiful walking bridge over the river that makes the sloping walk worthwhile. For challenged hikers this is an awesome space to get rest, enjoy the beauty of nature and head back knowing the short walk was well worth it. However, further into the hike you see breathtaking views, wildflowers, a multitude of mushrooms, and wide varieties of trees as well. The forest grows over the thin trail at times so keep a lookout for tree roots in your path. Near the second small walking bridge a couple beavers chill out so don't be surprised by them scurrying off as you approach! They are busy building and won't approach you.
