Cliff Jumping in Makarska, Croatia
Makarska, Croatia
Description
Added by Pria M
Tucked away from the tourist circuit between Split and Dubrovnik, cliff jumping in Makarska is the perfect quick adventure stop along Croatia's beautiful coastline.
While it's not heavily advertised in Croatia guidebooks, Makarska is a beautiful small town in between Dubrovnik and Split that is worth a stop, if only to take a break from the heavily-touristy major cities along the Croatian coast for a breath of fresh air...preferably right before jumping off a cliff into the deep blue ocean!
To find these karsts in Makarska, head towards the Grotta, located across the water from the center of town and easily found on Google maps. Follow the oceanfront road northwest (Obala kralja Tomislava) as it loops around the water and faces the Park Suma Sveti Petar. Follow the sidewalk behind the docks until you climb some shallow stairs and reach a fence with many keys locked onto it. Right past this is where you will find the smallest cliffs, around 16-18 meters. You can climb the stairs on the right to reach higher cliffs, around 28 meters (it's worth it)!
Once you've jumped in, there is a ladder and stairs to get back up to the 16-18 meter height.
