Explore Clear Creek Falls

Ice Lakes Basin Trailhead - Search Nearby - Added by Jason Hatfield

Explore this incredible, lush waterfall that looks like it's in the Pacific NW.

An amazing, unnamed falls in Colorado that appears to be surrounded by a temperate rainforest. The rare blue waters of the surrounding mountain basins combined with hanging moss and lichen leave you feeling as if you're in the Canadian Rockies or Columbia River Gorge.

Please minimize your impact on this fragile environment and pack out any trash you create or find. Don't throw rocks, pull or carve on trees, or alter the environment from its natural state, so that others might enjoy it.

Absolutely stunning!

This is hands down one of the easiest, shortest but most rewarding "hikes" I have ever done in Colorado! Easier to find than I first suspected so thank you Outbound and Mr. Jason Hatfield! It really only took crossing a couple of small streams and getting my feet wet but the payoff was truly incredible! It may be at most a quarter of a mile from the South Fork Mineral Creek campground so it takes no time to find. The lichen, moss-covered gorge accompanied by the two falls and the blue-colored glacial-fed pools was mesmerizing. I really have seen nothing else like this in Colorado. This is a MUST do for any adventurer exploring the San Juan mountains in Southwest Colorado.
