You can only reach the trailhead eastbound on I-70. Use the free lot near the restrooms at the start of the hike. Be ready for a rocky uneven path on the way up, its about 1,000ft elevation. Trailhead starts at 6,387ft elevation and climbs to a total of 7,323ft. You start your climb in Glenwood Canyon up through Deadhorse Creek Canyon to your final destination 'Hanging Lake'. This hike is extremely scenic and filled with wildlife making Hanging Lake one of Colorado's most explored hikes. Though it is one of the most explored it is not the most easy. Bring plenty of water. This hike is very rewarding after the strenuous trail the oasis at the top is well worth the adventure.
