Its true. Frogs, and lots of them do arrive in spring at the base of the watertrickle(fall) Pretty cool, pretty crowded at times, but 100% worth it. This is perfect for toddlers if you have children in this age range. Not all flat, but enough of a scramble that it provides an enjoyable family trip.

This trail, the entire surrounding area, additional & longer trails, amenities, plus scenery is hands down in the top 5 for the PHX Metro area. Check it out!

Mandatory local hike that you must check off your list. Worth a return or two for sure. Busy on the weekends as you would imagine, attempt on a weekday if a bit more solitude is what you seek.

Determining the direction will depend on if you want to make this a workout with a run, or a steady clip for a nice day hike. Starting west is the former, going east for the latter. East is a preference as you do a gradual winding incline looking into Cave Creek, Spur Cross and beyond. It allows for the descent of switchbacks on the final portion, which you will have to do a medium level assault for a workout if starting west. As the title implies, the variety of wildflowers doing bloom make for a rather scenic trip. Many other side trails exist to explore deep into the backcountry. Plan accordingly if this is an option you wish to pursue.
