Description
Added by Andrea Thompson
A trail through an old cedar forest leading to the site of a mysterious trainwreck with legal graffiti.
The trail head was a little confusing to find at first, but park behind Oliver's Market in the Function Junction area of Whistler. The trail head for the Flank Trail is just behind an information board in the parking lot. When you enter the forest you'll see a sign for the Flank Trail on the right and an unmarked but well worn trail straight along side the Cheakamus River. Take the unmarked trail and follow it until you reach an opening. On the left up a small slope you will see two painted rocks, follow the trail down between the rocks and continue under the highway overpass. After this point the trail weaves along side and across the train tracks. Eventually you'll reach an opening in the forest and immediately will notice the first of seven railway cars.
There is a pretty impressive bike park structured around the cars and it is an approved graffiti site so the aesthetics are constantly changing! It's a really fun area to explore!
