Bragg Creek, Alberta

Offers numerous trails for multiple activitiesGreat for an afternoon spent in the foothills surrounded by beautiful scenery
I had been attempting some lofty goals in the month of March so a relaxing day exploring the Allen Bill day use area was just what the doctor ordered.
The area offers so many trails that it's easy to mix and match for what you're looking for. Whether a short jaunt through the forest, or a long 20 km loop up ridges and through valleys. It's a place where whatever you choose, you likely won't be disappointed. It's also pretty active with wildlife - a hot spot for moose and even some predator activity.
The best way to experience Allan Bill is to pick a trail and go for it. Sometimes choose to take the left fork, sometimes choose the right. For those who are looking for a bit more structure, Strange Brew is my favourite as it gains a ridge and brings you to Baruch's Corner - a make shift rest area with rock chairs and a pleasant view over the valley, but I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention Fullerton Loop as a classic.
My favourite part about this area is the amount of activities that it accommodates. In winter, there are maintained cross-country ski and snowshoe trails as well as mountain biking trails for any fat-bikers. Summer months bring a plethora of trail runners, hikers, and mountain bikers to the area, however, solitude is still not hard to find.
