Description

Added by Danielle Flieler

This is a wonderful location for backcountry camping in a newly established provincial park. There are tons of beautiful lakes and campsites.

This camping adventure begins at the Long Lake Access Point where you can rent canoes, kayaks and SUP's and also park your car. You begin the canoe on Long Lake and from there you can portage into several different lakes. We chose a 500M portage to Buzzard Lake.

The benefit of camping in the Kawartha Lakes is that you can book your campsite in advance and even get to see pictures of the campsites online as you book. The fishing and swimming is excellent here.

You can do this trip as a beginner but this will interest intermediate and advanced campers as well as you can increase the number of portages and canoeing.
