Lyle Lakes are some of the most colourful lakes you will find in the Kootenays. In the summer, the Lyle Creek basin is also home to an abundance of wildflowers.

From Kaslo, drive west on Highway 31 A for 23 km. Just before Retallack, you will find the Rossiter Creek FSR on your right. Follow the road and stay left at 1 km, travel 1.4 km more and take a second left. After 3.6 km take a left. Drive 1 km more and you are there at the parking spot, 7km from the paved road. The trail begins here. The road had some steep sections but is really well maintained and can be access with a 2wd vehicle. However, there are 2 options to reach the trailhead. One trail starts before the parking lot and signs show you the path. This can be an alternative, as the end of the road to the parking lot is very narrow. Count about 20 to 30 more minutes from that start. The trail is very well maintained and quite steep at the end but it only takes one hour and an half to get there. The emerald waters of Lyle Lakes will appear as a reward as soon as you reach the top.
