Big Basin Redwood State Park is the oldest State Park in California. This astonishing State Park is known for its plethora of Coastal Redwoods. Inside the Park hike to many gorgeous waterfalls like Sempervirens Falls. Or even take a longer trip to the coast line.
Depart from the Big Basin Redwood State Park Headcounters The trail head is on the left side of the road leaving the Headquarters. The trail marker is marked Sequoia Trail to Sempervirens Falls. This hike is pretty easy and not a lot of climbing or elevation gain. Continue down the trail and walk under thousands of Coastal Redwood Trees.
Carrying on at several points on both sides their are campgrounds that reservations can be made at. A creek runs through the trail multiple times, at these points their are small wooden foot bridges to cross over on.
Next hang right and descend down a wooden staircase and cross the road. At the other side of the road will be another wooden staircase. Go down the staircase and you will be at Sempervirens Falls. If headed back to Santa Cruz make sure to grab a bite at Fire Fish on the Warf.
