Make your way to the 870m elevation summit via the Dutchmans Stern hiking trail, a gentle 10km loop guides you on a magnificent walk. The summit offers spectacular views of Spencer Gulf, surrounding ranges and the Willochra Plain. The Heysen Trail also winds its way through the park.

The views on this 10.6km loop around the Dutchmans Stern are simply breathtaking. The walk to the summit is along a well worn track through rugged landscapes and offers spectacular views of the Spencer Gulf and majority of the Southern Flinders Ranges.

Once you reach the summit if you are lucky you may be able to see large wedge tail eagles gliding around the hills. The walk from the summit is a slow downhill wrapping around the mountain slopes and leads you all the way back to the car park.

This walk is highly recommended by all the locals of the surrounding towns and is only 10km out of Quorn! It is a free hike and offers free backpack camping or paid accommodation. There is a carpark at the start of the walk along with information signs.  Allow 5 hours for this walk as you spend a lot of time stopping to admire natures beauty. The elevation is 820meters which is reached by a slow gradual incline along the dirt and rocky paths.

There are also shorter or longer walks available in this conservation park depending on what your objectives are.
