Behind their full-leather upper is Salomon's Climashield waterproof, breathable membrane to keep your feet dry from all the deep snow you'll be stomping through up there. They're insulated with Thinsulate insulation, which will provide sufficient warmth for most temperatures you'll encounter below treeline. To ensure longevity of the boot, the heel and toe are reinforced with protective rubber heel and toe caps, and the sole is a stout rubber compound lugged to offer superior traction on icy surfaces. To keep your feet comfortable, the boots are equipped with a breathable textile lining, Ortholite insole, and an injected EVA midsole with a supportive nylon shank.
