Beautiful place to watch the sun set - also, now that the humidity is acting crazy, you can actually watch the waves of Marine Layer wafting in late in the evening.

Live in Downtown or Near USC? Take the Expo Line to the Red Line all the way up to the Hollywood/Highland station - it's about a 10-15 minute walk to Runyon from there and you avoid the awful parking situation. Hint - if you DID take your car, there's a Ralph's at the VERY bottom of the Runyon trek (about a block down) where you can park unnoticed for a few hours.

Great surf spot! Lot's of shark sightings this year though (migration patterns apparently changed due to El Nino), but the waves are lovely!
