Traveled up here for the long weekend and this place was better than expected. The road is still in rough shape from the rainy weather, but is passable. Many of the campsites were wet, but won't be a problem if you're over landing. We camped out by a stream that dumped into the ocean, which was a stones throw away. From the wild elk to the isolated Beauty of the beach, this hidden gem is a must-visit for anyone wanting to visit Northern California.

I got to the park just before sunrise, which gave me an incredible morning view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city. When I hit the coastal trail, I had the majority of the morning to myself. There are small, off-the-beaten-path side trails that allow you to follow the coast all the way until Tennessee Valley Beach. As I walked along, I came across plenty of wildlife (rabbits, falcons, and coyotes) making for a diverse trip. The old army outposts give hikers great vantage points, and the wide trails visibly marked. All around great views of both the city and the shoreline.
