If you’re looking to getaway from town for an overnighter, this is a nice and pretty spot. If you like to fish, you will have ample opportunity. Free and easy to find car camping spots along the river, good bird watching but not many hiking options.

Stayed at the Pioneer Yurt and then summited the next day. It was cold and lightly snowed all morning. The trail is well marked and traveled to the saddle then we just made our way to the summit. Beautiful hike and the yurt is worth the cost.

Beautiful clear day with fresh snow on the whole mountain (end of September). Made camp at Lunch Counter and proceeded to summit at sunset. Windy at the top of the false summit (Pikers Peak). Glissading back down was great and quick; make sure everything is secure on your bag. Route is so heavily traveled all you have to do is follow the footsteps. 4hrs Parking Lot to Lunch Counter, 5hrs Lunch Counter-Summit-Lunch Counter, 2hrs Lunch Counter back down to Parking Lot.

A beautiful trail around Bogus Basin. A great trail for all riders. Took me an hour and a half.

The trail was good for the first 6-8 miles then it became overgrown and then vanished. I found myself carrying my mountain bike over boulders to even get over to Celebration Park. There are better rides than this elsewhere or just stick to a shorter 12-16 mile out and back.

A great spot to spend the day exploring in the high desert. Great spot to view the stars!

A great beginner summit for mountaineering. A different ascent in the spring and the summer.
