On this trail always follow the paths to the right, my friend and i almost got lost following the paths on the left side

From San Francisco we went down highway 1, past Pacifica, and Devil's Slide, then stopped to the side at the sign Montara State Beach. From there we followed the steep trail adjacent to it and made it up the fire road all the way to the top in about 2 hours. Along the way are beautiful views of Pacifica, Daly City, even San Francisco and a little bit of the Golden Gate Bridge. To the East are views of San Bruno, Millbrae, Oakland and in the far distance, a silhouette of Mount Diablo

This hike took about 2 1/2 hours to get to the waterfall and then about 3 to get back, however it was completely worth it. It is rare to see a waterfall flowing into the ocean.

Everything from the shaded descent, to the open hills, the verdurous seaside stairs and then the beach. We started from the trailhead at Panoramic Highway, and followed signs for Dipsea trail for approximately six miles, and after resting at Stinson beach we retraced our steps back up.
