Hike to Grandeur Peak

To get there, drive up Millcreek Canyon. There will be several bikers and private camp sites for children. There will be a spot to the left side of the road (a c-shaped area connecting to the left side) where you can park.

Follow the signs with the hiking symbol up the road and you will find a metal gate. You will eventually walk through a camping ground (with many signs asking hikers not to park there). The paved road will lead you to a sign that says "Grandeur Hike Trail." Walk up the trail, and there will be three trail options. For the Grandeur Hike Trail, take the one towards the middle.

The hike begins in a forested area, which feels especially nice if you go in the early morning on a sunny day. The path will eventually become a bunch of switchbacks. One of the corners of the switchback is at a rocky area, which is great as a resting spot to look at the giant Wasatch Mountains.

Continue walking through the switchbacks and the path will become more inclined. There will be diversions in the path in which you'll be able to see small views of the mountains or city. The top is very rocky, but on one side you'll be able to see the mountains in the east and the city in the West.

Note that there is some tree cover, but there are definitely some areas where it is difficult to avoid the sun.
