Description

An excellent moderate two hour loop through open meadows with plenty of chances for vista views.
Trailhead starts from a parking lot next to group day-use picnic sites. This trail is about 70 to 90% sun exposure and will take about 2 hours. Since it's mostly exposed, it is best done not in the summer months.
Take Stern Trail or Lower Bald Mountain. Turn right on Bald Mountain Trail. Turn right on Vista Trail and traverse the mountain. Turn right on Gray Pine trail (seasonal creek crossing) and then continue on Meadow Trail to return back to the parking lot.
Towards the end of the hike, you'll come across the Robert Ferguson Observatory. Mountain bikers are also using this trail.
