Robbers Cave State Park is a beautiful and relatively unknown climbing destination hidden in Eastern Oklahoma's Sans Bois Mountains. The park features sandstone cliffs that are perfect for running laps on Top-rope or practicing your technical Trad skills!

About the Park: Robbers Cave State Park was named and made famous for being the former hideout for the outlaws Jesse James and Belle Starr. The shallow 'robbers' cave is a short hike away ( < 1 mile) from the climbing area, so make sure to check it out while you are there!

Climbing and Rappelling: The climbing area is very easy to access, with parking at Robbers Cave Trail Head. From the parking lot, the first thing you will see and notice is Mushroom Boulder, all climbs are located here or just behind the Mushroom, in a maze of boulders and sandstone cliffs. Climbing topo & maps are available at the Visitors Information Center. Climbs range from 5.6 to 5.12 and are mixture of Top-ropes and Traditional climbing. Many of the Top-ropes are accessed from the top and use trees/boulders as anchors, many times these anchor points are pushed back away from the edge, so make sure you are comfortable setting anchors and have sufficient length to reach the edge. The most popular and recognizable climbing areas in the park are Mushroom Boulder, Devil's Slide, Horse Coral Face which hosts the largest concentration of climbs.

Other Activities: Mountain Biking, Paddling, Disc Golf, Hiking, and Swimming.

Where to Stay: The State Park offers Tent Camping, RV Sites and Cabin Rental
