I haven't been able to find any other articles on here about this hike but it was amazing and definitely a must if you're ever in Maine!

From the parking lot its about a 4.5 mile hike to Fairy Head through some swamp land and dense mossy forest terrain transitioning up and down in elevation along the trail. Once you reach Fairy Head you will pass through a thicket of pines to the campsite that is perched on top of a rocky out crop which towers over the ocean below. The waters are a deep blue yet somehow clear. A light house can be seen in the distance to the right of the campsite. One of the best sunsets I've ever seen was here while listening to the waves crash against the rocks. After leaving Fairy Head it's another 6 miles on the trail back to the parking lot, most of which is cliff side along the coast. Finally turning back into the woods for the last couple miles.
